Physical therapist and owner · takes appointments

Jason Harper, PT, DPT, Cert. DN

The name in most of the reviews, and the one certified to put a needle in the trigger point that is causing the trouble.

Jason grew up in a small town in Southern Idaho, where he worked on the family farm growing potatoes, sugar beets, barley and wheat. That is not a decorative detail. It is a childhood of long days and physical work, and it shows up in how he talks about getting people back to theirs.

He received a BA in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University and later a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. He is fluent in Spanish, which matters more in a St. George clinic than a credentials list usually conveys, and he has worked in the outpatient setting as well as in home health care with the geriatric population.

His specialty training is in dry needling, manual therapy and spinal manipulation. Those three sit together deliberately: they are the hands-on end of the practice, the part that finds a restriction and does something about it directly rather than waiting for an exercise programme to get there eventually.

Read the clinic's Google reviews and his name is in most of them. A retired 79-year-old with a torn rotator cuff and tendons wrote that Jason fully understood what he needed and helped him regain good range of motion in a month of twice-weekly sessions, and that he is gentle and encouraging. Another patient came in after ACL surgery not knowing what to expect and was walked through every step of the rehab. Another had a back fixed with a combination of dry needling and red light therapy.

Jason is married to his high school sweetheart and has three boys and a girl. Free time goes to family, basketball, golf and being outdoors, which in this part of Utah is less a hobby than a default setting.
