A four-person clinic, and the four people

Fortify is an outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation practice serving St. George and Washington. Two therapists take appointments and you choose which. The clinic's own description of the goal is to help you heal from an injury, learn how to prevent the next one, and get pain relief through a plan built for you rather than for a diagnosis code.

The assessment is the product

Every plan here starts with a movement assessment, because the loudest symptom and the actual cause are frequently in different places. A shoulder that hurts can be a mid-back that has stopped rotating. A knee that hurts on descents is often a hip that is not holding position. Treating where somebody points is the fastest way to be back in the same room in six weeks.

From that assessment the clinic uses whatever the problem needs: dry needling, cupping, spinal manipulation, blood flow restriction training, kinesio taping, a cold plunge, a red light panel, the Neubie. None of those is the practice. They are what a practice reaches for once it knows what it is looking at.

The clinic's own line about the community it serves is worth keeping: success here is dependent on your success, and the room is meant to be warm and welcoming rather than clinical, because people heal better when they are comfortable. Fortify serves St. George and Washington in southern Utah, and the trails, the marathon, the Senior Games and the pickleball courts supply a steady share of the caseload.
